Faith as a child

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Matthew 7:7

We can learn so much from kids. They have no problem with asking and they believe they have it that moment. At least that’s what my kids do. Lol. So why can’t we do this with our heavenly Father? He has and will never leave us nor forsake us. He wants nothing more than to bless us and care for us. He wants us to have the best and to be the best. He loves us so much and wants us to trust and believe in Him and his Word. He is love. He is saying “Ask me my child and its yours.”

Recently, I was talking with my 4yr old and she was telling me that she wanted to pray for her teacher. She prayed the sweetest and most precious prayer for healing over her dear teacher. She finished and to sleep she went. The next day, I asked her about praying again for her teacher and she said “why?” I asked why shouldn’t we pray and she said because I already prayed and she was healed after I prayed. I said who healed her she replied “Jesus”.  Shut the front door. My own daughter grabbed hold to the true meaning of trusting and believing that when I asked it is done that moment.  Even when she saw that her teacher was still limping around. She knew in her heart that God had already healed her.  God is good.  It’s just that simple. Simply trust Him and He will come through. If  we have the faith as a child; we will see GOD results. Dream again, believe again, trust God again and see your dreams manifest and take life.

Prayer Focus:

Dear Heavenly Father

I choose this day to trust and believe your Word and your Way. I will not put trust in my own ability. I will know without a shadow doubt that you have me encompassed in your

love. You want me to be the best me. You want me to have the best. You want me to ask and know that it is already done.  Seek your face and your Word and get instructions on every move and detail.  Thank you for knowing every dream and making them a reality. In Jesus name. Amen

Broken Crayons Still Color

  • capture+_2018-03-11-11-08-051923320955..jpg“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

The Lord wants us to know that He runs to our brokenness/hurt/shame/ guilt and pain. Brokenness is a symbol that we need Him. We are incomplete without Him. He is the only One that can make us new. He takes what is broken and uses it to be a platform to set you and others free.

A few years ago, my husband and I made a decision that we believed was a move from God. We moved on what God said we just forgot to ask the question of “when”. Boy did we find out about the timing of God versus our timing. It was definitely different. We were going full speed ahead with no stop signs ahead. When my husband and I noticed that we had no peace in this move. We quickly gathered the family and discussed the importance of following the leading of God and His timing.  We felt broken and thought that we made a huge mistake and that being used by God was non-existent. But God…….. Even in our mishaps, even in our feeling low and disposable, God saw hope and saw children that wanted so desperately to follow his leading and just missed it on timing. Admittedly, God showed Himself strong and showed that his love is stronger than any failure we could ever experience. He showed us that even in our brokenness that He could still use us.  You see will tell this story from a place of victory rather than fighting for victory.   We share this story by telling the importance of Gods timing and how it makes a BIG difference.  You see God gets the glory even with a broken situation. You see my sister and brother you have not gone too far for God not to catch you. You have not been so low that God can’t reach you. God can use the broken or hopeless situation to create a masterpiece. A broken crayon/person in the hand of the Master can be a work of art.

Prayer: I am a child of the Most High God. God can take my brokenness and make me whole and complete. God use my brokenness to show that in your hands all things are possible. I have the opportunity to be all that God has created me to be. I will not focus on my past and mistakes, but focus on the purpose and plan that you have for me in Jesus name.

Welcome to Beauty for Ashes blog

Thanks for joining me on this journey called life!

I am so excited to have you on this journey. I know that life can hit you with many ups and downs; however when you have someone to help you along the way it makes the journey less strenuous. This devotional is meant to inspire, bring hope and encouragement through the various seasons of life.

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Lonnica Crawford. I go by Nikki, Loni, Ni-Ni, TeeTee, wifey, mommy, auntie, sister and friend. The one I love the most is being called daughter of the Most High, which allows me to represent all the other names well. I am married to my best friend, Dennis for 17 blessed years. We have three beautiful kiddos that call me “mommy.” I just love it. My husband and I love to spend our time serving at our church home on the prayer team. We believe in the power of prayer. What I enjoy most are our date nights and date days. Nothing elaborate just he and I holding hands or looking in each others eyes. Well, you get the glimpse of who I am in a sense. Right???? I just wanted to show you who you are taking this journey with. I love me some people. I love relationships. God loves relationships. We cannot do life as an isolated island. We can; but it’s a whole lot easier, and more fun with some folks on it, hello? Doing life with others is whassup.

Honestly, I have been carrying this devotional in my heart for years. Three years ago, I started the journey of hosting a power packed prayer line that still gathers via conference line every Monday at 6am. We have seen God move in a mighty way. He has expanded our prayer team not just in size; but in our ability and confidence to combat the enemy with the authority of the Word of God. Every great success starts with prayer. So with that being said Beauty from Ashes was birthed in prayer. Its intent is to inspire, bringing hope and encouragement. God can do a great deal with what we believe to be hopelessness, ashes or nothings. Hopelessness, ashes and nothing in the hands of our heavenly Father is hope, beauty and something.

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
